Class Description
This class teaches RESNET policies, procedures and codes of conduct for Rating Providers, Training Providers, Raters, Rating Field Inspectors, and QAD Quality Assurance Designees. It provides guidelines working with RESNET and how to comply with RESNET rules and regulations. This class also includes study of Energy Efficient Mortgages and Energy Improvement Mortgages. The National RESNET Rater Test/Rating Field Inspector Test is administered following the conclusion of this class.

Prerequisite coursework:
- E-820 - Introduction to Energy Efficiency
- E-821 - Blower Door & Duct Blaster Training
- E-824 – Rem / Rate – Standard Course
- E-801 – Energy Star Version 3 Update
Success will depend in part on your ability to learn and retain information in a short period of time. Required math skills include calculating area and volume (Geometric formulas) and solving basic Algebra formulas. This course will be a review and overview of the subject matter to be tested on at the end of the day.
Course Objectives
Upon Completion of this course, the student will have the ability to:
- Describe the energy efficiency rater industry.
- Describe the relationship between a Rater and a Provider and the mentoring role provided by a Quality Assurance Designee.
- Describe the continuing professional development requirement for staying abreast of industry changes and standards.
- Describe how to work with rating providers and the requirements for retaining status as a rater in good standing.
- Describe how to become a member of RESNET and the benefits of membership.
- Demonstrate understanding of Energy Efficient Mortgages and Energy Improvement Mortgages, the significance they have for lending institutions and how to work with a lender and a customer to secure a loan under these programs.

Attendance Policy
It is expected that students will attend scheduled classes regularly and on time. If an absence occurs, it is the responsibility of the student to make up all missed work. Students, who must withdraw from a class, will receive credit for work completed and may complete the course at a later date with instructor approval. Attendance will be tracked and maintained for various reporting purposes.
Accreditation and Evaluation
The curriculum for this course is based on the Building Performance Institute Standards and the course is accredited by (BPI). In keeping with the standards of this accreditation, students are encouraged to provide informal feedback throughout the course. A survey is distributed to students on the last day of class whereby students are asked to evaluate the class and the instructor. This feedback is used to create an on-going professional development plan for instructors and to inform course improvements.
